Free-from: less is more

Wednesday 8th May, 13:00 - 15:00

The consumption of free-from foods has long moved beyond nutritional needs related to intolerances. The growth of this category reveals that consumers view these products as healthier and are happy to pay a premium as Euromonitor sales data from 2017 suggests, when free-from sales increased by 11.7% in Western Europe and 8.7% in Eastern Europe. This market is predicted to keep growing exponentially. We will be reviewing food innovation to meet the demand in this area as well as explore what is needed to build a trusted brand and use free-from claims appropriately in the EU.
